How It Works

Call Id
Call Id and Name (*65)

After the first ring, the name and or number of the person calling will appear on the display unit that attaches to your telephone.
The Call ID and Name service requires both a display device and service activation by Hancock Telephone. Only the person receiving the call needs to subscribe to the service.
Call ID and Name service and telephones with built-in display are available at our business office.
There may be times when you do not wish your telephone number to be displayed. Hancock Telephone offers two options for preventing your number from being revealed to anyone who has Call ID and Name or a similar service from other telephone companies.

Enhanced Call Waiting
Works the same as Call Waiting except it is used with the Call ID and Call ID and Name features. The number and/or name of the second calling party are shown on your Call ID display screen.

Anonymous Call Rejection (*77)
To prevent an incoming call from ringing if the caller has stopped the display of the telephone number, press *77 (1177 for rotary dial). To deactivate this service and allow those calls to ring through, press *78 (1178 for rotary dial).

Per-Call Blocking (*67)
To prevent your telephone number from being displayed on a per-call basis, simply press *67(1167 for rotary dial) before each call. If you do not press *67 or misdial it, your number will be displayed. Per Call Blocking is automatically provided to all customers even if you don't subscribe to Call ID or Call ID and Name. You can switch blocking options two times at no charge during the first six months of service, after which a nominal switching fee will be applied.

All-Call Blocking
Prevent your number from being displayed for all calls made on your line. To activate this service, please call Hancock Telephone. To deactivate All-Call Blocking one call at a time, simply press *82 (1182 for rotary dial) before placing the call.
Either blocking method also prevents the called party from using Call Return (*69) to return your call.
If you are a subscriber to Call ID and Name and receive a call from someone who has blocked their number from being displayed, a "P" indicating "private" will be displayed on your device. If a call comes in from an area where the Call ID and Name service in not provided, and "O" is displayed indicating "out of area."

Miss that call? To return a call to the last number that called you:
  Just pick up the phone.
Dial *69 (1169 for rotary dial).
Wait on the line and you will be reconnected to the last number that called.
If the line is busy, Call Return will keep trying to return your call for thirty minutes. Hang up, and when the number is available, Call Return will alert you with a special ring. If you do not want Call Return to keep trying your number, dial *89 (1189 for rotary dial) to deactivate it.
Call Return *69 is automatically available on customer lines.

Busy Redial (*66)
  Just hang up the phone.
  Pick up the receiver.
Dial *66 (1166 for rotary dial).
  Hang up.
Your telephone will automatically dial the busy number for up to 30 minutes, then ring you back when the line is free. You complete the call by picking up the receiver when the call rings you back! If you need to deactivate the Call Back Busy command, dial *86 (1186 for rotary dial). Busy Redial *66 is automatically available on customer lines.
